Library Policies: TexShare Cards and Lending Policy

Introduction

The following information covers the TexShare card program, offered in partnership with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. This card offers specific borrowing privileges at partnering libraries, including public and academic institutions. For more information about the program and other services that they offer, please visit the TSLAC website

The card program is separate from the databases offered through TexShare to Brazosport College Library users. A complete list of the databases that we offer in conjunction with TexShare can be found here.

TexShare Use Policy

Participation in the TexShare Card program is a privilege afforded to students, faculty, and staff at Brazosport College who are in good standing. An application requires adherence to the following terms, which are adapted from the official TSLAC website regarding its program for TexShare cards.

As an applicant for the TexShare Card program, I agree to:

  • Assume responsibility for returning materials to the lending library on time and in the condition it was borrowed in, either in person or by first-class insured mail.
  • Return materials immediately if they are recalled by the lending library for any reason before the loan period is complete.
  • Present identification along with my TexShare Card at any participating TexShare institution.
  • Pay any associated fines, fees, or other charges incurred from late returns or damaged and lost materials. I understand that failure to pay charges incurred will result on a block placed on my Brazosport College account and inhibit access to college library materials.
  • Surrender my TexShare card to Brazosport College Library staff if requested.
