The library offers four 30 minute workshops (via Zoom) during the Fall and Spring semesters. The topics usually focus on library related themes like research, information, library resources or information literacy though once in a while we expand our scope to include something in the education field. Workshops usually start around the third week of the semester and are then offered every other week from there. Each workshop is offered twice: Tuesday evening and is repeated the next day (Wednesday) in the early afternoon. Interested faculty can request a video recording of a workshop that we can post in the course LibGuide or that they can link to their course D2L/ Virtual Campus . The library is happy to create a related assignment should the instructor want to incorporate the workshop presentation into their curriculum.
The library is forever grateful to faculty who offer student incentives as a means to encourage student attendance at library workshops. We recognize our students do not have much time for attending extracurricular events so these offered incentives contribute to most, if not all, workshop participation. At the completion of that week's workshop, we will email faculty the list of their students who attended. Again faculty encouragement is paramount in driving student attendance so we appreciate your efforts!
